Six promises, and what it costs us to keep each one

Peldia is not a foundation or an open-source project: it is a small company with a paid product it wants to sell. So we are not asking you to trust us for what we are. Every promise says what we give up and where to check it.

1

Players are never charged

Not to sign up, not to play, not to look up a result. Never, and not “for now.”

What it costs us

That is the standard model in this business: some platforms keep a percentage of every entry fee, so a twenty-euro tournament costs the player twenty-one and change. It is money we will never take.

2

Your level and your record are yours, and they are free

Your level, how it has changed and every match you have played, on a public page. Also if you change club: the record belongs to the person.

What it costs us

In other racket sports you pay a yearly fee to see your own level. That is not going to be charged here.

3

Playing needs no account

Someone joining an americano does not create a user, does not pick a password and does not install anything. They open a link and type their name.

What it costs us

A big list of registered users is the number a product like this gets measured by. It will not be grown here by making people sign up to play on a Tuesday.

4

We do not track you, which is why there is no cookie banner

No Google Analytics, no social media pixels, nothing from anyone else. We count how many people open each page and, when someone creates a competition, which website they came from. Nothing else.

What it costs us

The convenient measuring tools and targeted advertising, which is the kind that pays well. And never being able to say “we have N unique users”, because measuring that is precisely what we do not do.

5

Everything public reads without JavaScript and without an app

A standings table is an ordinary page: it opens on an old phone, on a bad signal and in whatever browser you have.

What it costs us

More work, and giving up an app in the stores. In exchange, it opens on any phone and in any browser, with nothing to download.

6

The price is written down and there is no salesperson

The only paid thing is the dashboard for whoever runs the club: $22 a month, no minimum term, and free for now.

What it costs us

Not being able to charge the big club more than the small one, and going without the “request a demo” where you get quoted a price based on how your club sounds. And if you write, a person answers.

What this does not mean

  • That we are free out of kindnessThere is a paid product
  • That the code is open sourceIt is not
  • That we book courtsNot today
  • That we collect entry fees for youNot today

Booking and payments are handled by the software you already use; if you want to reach it from Peldia, ask us. What Peldia does not have, by name, in the comparison.

And if we ever break one

It will be written on this page, dated and saying which one, before it happens.

If it can be changed quietly, it was not a commitment, it was an ad.

Check it yourself, without trusting us

A full example club, with its standings and its players' pages. No account and nothing to pay.
