Everyone starts at 1500 and moves depending on what the match made you expect: beating someone better moves you a lot, beating someone you were supposed to beat moves you little. The score counts too, but who wins matters more than by how much: a 6-0 is not worth three times a 6-4.
A whole group going up does not mean everyone improved: level is measured against the others.
Below 8 matches no level is shown, and nothing is said about a pair until they have played together a few times. That is not caution: with samples that small, the number would say more about luck than about play.

Not the names, not the results, not the report. And an afternoon of americano is usually six matches per player: with two or three sessions the level comes out. If you want every player to have their own page and the level to update itself every time you play, you need to set up the competition.

How is a padel level calculated from results?

Is one afternoon enough?
No. It takes at least 8 matches per player against different opponents. One americano is about six, so two or three sessions is the realistic minimum. With less than that the number would say more about luck than about play.
Is this the same as the level in other apps?
No, and they are not comparable. Each app has its own scale and its own way of working it out; this is a rating of its own that comes only from results. They measure different things and mixing them makes no sense.
Do you store what I paste here?
No. Not the names, not the results, not the report: it is calculated, shown and forgotten when you close the page. If you want it to last and update itself, you need to create the competition.
Does it work for other sports?
It is meant for racket sports (padel, tennis, pickleball and badminton) and there it works in full: a 16-8 americano and a 6-3 tennis set compare without declaring anything. For football or basketball the level is still calculated from who beats whom, but the score is not interpreted: 1-0 does not mean what 6-0 means.
