What a round-robin league is
Everyone plays everyone, and losing a match does not put you out
With n teams, n minus 1 rounds if even and n if odd.

In a round-robin league every team plays every other one once (or twice, home and away) and whoever has the most points at the end wins. There is no elimination: losing a match does not put you out, which is why one bad afternoon does not ruin the season.
With n teams you get n−1 rounds if the number is even, and n rounds if it is odd, because one team sits out each time. The total number of matches is always the same: every possible pair meets once.
It is the format of seven-a-side football, futsal, basketball (here is a basketball league run here) and of any padel or tennis club league with fixed pairs. What it is not: an americano, where the pairs change every round and the standings are individual, or a knockout bracket, where whoever loses goes home.
The difference is the dates
You know the day the league ends before it starts
Every round comes out with its date, weekly or every two weeks.

Generating the pairings is the easy part and any spreadsheet does it. The question the organizer actually has is when does this finish: if the league starts on 12 September, is played on Saturdays and runs to 13 rounds, does it end before Christmas or run into February?
Here you set the start date, the day of the week and whether it is played weekly or every two weeks, and every round comes out with its date. Without that, a schedule is a list of rounds and somebody ends up counting Saturdays on a wall calendar.
Questions
What if we have an odd number of teams?
It still works: one team sits out each round, in turn, and over the season everyone sits out the same amount. That is 9 rounds with 9 teams instead of the 8 you would expect, because a dummy team is added and whoever "plays" it has the week off.
Can I change the draw of a league?
Yes. There is a draw number in the settings: change it and you get different pairings. The same link always gives the same schedule, so you can hand it round without it reshuffling.
Can the league be played home and away?
Yes. The rounds double and every pair meets twice, once at each ground. The second half mirrors the first, which is what football does and what people expect.
Do I need an account to get the schedule?
No. The full schedule comes out without an account and can be printed. An account is only needed for teams to sign themselves up and for the table to update itself with the results.
And the table keeps itself
Run on Peldia, each team signs up from a link without registering, results go in from a phone and the table updates itself with the right tie-breakers. And it stays: every player carries their record from one season to the next.
Creating your own needs an account, and those screens are in English too.
